The Americans are coming.....!!
Well actually they have just been.
A lovely week with lovely people....the ladies of NY and Vermont left this morning and when they did they also left a hole at the Craigerne!? We will miss our early morning philosophy and also a morning laugh...hope they do too!
Don't think our kitchen has been through quite so many eggs "over easy" per person in a single week? But I am sure eating all these eggs must be healthier than all the European breakfast meat eating? Also the "Mustard and Cheese" on a sandwich...? Well this is a first and I suspect also a last?!*
Hopefully they will spread the word and we will see more Americans visiting the Highlands, Newtonmore and The Craigerne.
Till the next time..(You might see us in Vermont on the ski slopes?)

The Craigerne has survived a weekend with the "GRANGE GIRLIE'S"....
A weekend to remember.......??!!**
Much fun was had with the Girls from the Grange, much chat about hockey, golf, walking, running, walking and all topped off with a bit of a song..... all of that said...with much shooshing and keep quiet (from librarian Jill), it was almost like a peaceful retreat or a sanctuary of silence.
We reckon it all made sense once we learned they are all librarians or in the Clergy?!*
Look forward to welcoming them back next year and as requested we will remember to replace the bedroom cadbury flake with a bible and the bubbles with holy water.
Cheers, Mine Host and Hostess

The Davidson Chalmers Peleton, rarely seen ? Now we know this to be fact and indeed ........TRUE!
Sadly we have been hearing from contacts around the world that the very rarely seen DCP are now likely to be even rarer this year and will likely not be found in the Scottish Highlands? Maybe next year (...in the spring...?) we might just be lucky enough to see these rare, gangly, slim almost skinny but very thirsty specimens as they wobble past and stop just to take on food and drink en route to summer activities and various hunting and mating grounds...?
It is thought the more agressive and even thirstier Whigmalearies will feature heavily at feeding troughs and drinking vessels over the coming weekend ....LOOK OUT FOR THEM!

OH NO! ...IS SUMMER OVER?
In fact what we should be asking is....WAS SUMMER EVER HERE!
Thankfully people do not holiday in Scotland for the sunny days and balmy evenings?!*
They come for the out-doors and the activities, both can be enjoyed whatever the weather....rain, shmain....its great for canoing, white water rafting and gorge exploring. Summer at the Craigerne has been busy, busy and busy again.
Now we are beginning to feel the eb of Summer and the closeness of Autumn we can still look forward to yet anotehr season of activities and enjoying the out-doors in the Cairngorm National Park, all with the backdrop of trees turning RED AND GOLD....AND....it just rolls on into the Winter when we start to slide into cold, frost and lets all hope....some good SNOW!
The Craigerne can be enjoyed all year round.....and with evening dinner food offering due to arrive in the Autumn then great for romantic break or group break alike...
